Welcome to this guided meditation. Well done for showing up and taking some time for yourself.
Once you're comfortable in a laying or seated position, start with several minutes of heart-rate variability breathing.
Breathe in for a count of 4 seconds, then breathe out for a count of 6 seconds, repeat for several minutes. Then return to normal breathing As you exhale, imagine the tension in your body slowly being released and flowing out of your body. And again inhale.....and exhale. Feel the connection between your body and the floor. Notice each point that connects your body to the floor. (Pause.) Begin to feel the heaviness, like you’re sinking into the mat or chair. Now come to notice the breath. Notice the belly rise and fall. Notice the chest rise and fall. Begin to feel a lightness within the body, as you bring awareness to your breath.
As you begin to feel more relaxed and light, The mind is completely aware. Bring awareness to the toes. Feel the toes on both feet, The soles of the feet, the ankles. Release any tension here on the out breath. Moving up the calves, releasing any tension in the calf muscles, bringing awareness to the shins and knees, releasing tension, feeling a lightness in the legs moving up the thighs, & hips. Now relax the lower back, middle back and upper back, releasing any tension on the out breath. Relax the shoulders, around the shoulder blades, and the upper arms. Bring your awareness down the arms, relaxing the hands. Releasing any tension in the chest, ribs and belly, the whole front of the body. Relax the muscles in the neck, the forehead, eyebrows and jaw. Bringing awareness to any tension in the head and face. Relax the face. Feel the lightness of the whole body and the feeling of being connected to the floor. Imagine a golden light filling the spaces where there was tension.
Imagine you have a fine golden cord tied around your waist keeping you attached to where you are right now, knowing that you can always follow this cord back here. Now you see that you’re in the void, the vast space of pure creative potential. This could be darkness all around you, or floating in space. You feel comfortable in the void, in this darkness, where the seeds of your creativity can grow. (Pause). The void now slowly becomes a green, grassy field, with soft yellow sunlight and a soft breeze against your skin. You are standing at the edge of a field, and as you look around you see that a forest begins only a short distance away. Past the first trees you begin to see a path. You walk out of the field towards the path, and enter into the lush green forest. You smell the fresh earthy scent. The soft light in the forest streams down through the leaves in a soft spray of light. You notice the textures beneath your feet, soft cool moss, some hard ground, some soft. There are ferns, moss, and small growth reaching towards the light. The smell is earthy but fresh as you breath in the cool air. You look around and notice small glowing mushooms growing on the decaying wood of a fallen tree. As you look up, the upper canopy of the trees covers you in a mosaic of leaves overhead. The light green leaves against the light blue and white sky create a soft, glowing, ambient light. The light is gentle and soothing.
(Pause). The path you are walking upon curves down a slight decline. It looks as though no one has walked this path in some time. You continue to follow it. The path is a combination of soil, roots, and small plants, and it is easy to walk upon with your bare feet. You reach a corner where you see a small stream. You continue to walk towards it, admiring the trees and interesting fungus around you. As you walk closer to the stream, you begin to hear the rippling water sounds getting louder in a constant rhythm. The water swirling and moving around the rocks. A leaf floats by on the surface of the stream.
You walk up to the stream, and sit on a rock at the edge. Dipping your feet into the cool, flowing water. Washing away any dirt from the path. The cool water is soothing. You pause to listen to the sounds of the breeze through the trees, some birds in the distance and the water moving at your feet. You close your eyes and enjoy the sounds. After you rest for a while, enjoying your surroundings, you decide to continue walking. You step to the dry bank of the stream. You see a large tree just off into the distance. A very old and strong looking tree. As you look at this tree in the distance, you begin to feel an energetic pull, as if it was inviting you over. You decide to walk closer to the tree. The tree has a spiral staircase winding up its trunk. The staircase is mossy with the same fungus growing on it that you noticed before. As you approach the bottom of this staircase there is an animal waiting for you. This animal guide is your spirit animal and will appear to each of you differently.
(Pause). You climb up the stairs following your animal guide, feeling your worries melt away with every step. You reach the top of the winding stairs, where you see a room. You feel that there’s a sort of magical quality to this tree, as you pass through the door to enter this room. In this room you see a bed of fresh leaves and fragrant flowers, with fire flies flying all around. You lay on this bed with the animal guide waiting by your side, breathing in the warm fragrant air. There’s golden sunlight coming through a space in the ceiling, landing just above the top of your head where you lay.
You feel the warmth from this light. A white light with golden sparkles starts flowing through this space above, where the sunlight came through. This cleansing white and golden light illuminates the area above you head. Entering your crown chakra, the space on the crown of your head. Blending with the purple light of this energy centre, cleansing and renewing the energy here, enhancing your connection to the cosmos. The white gold light moves down to the third eye charka the space just above the space between the eyebrows, filling this space with white gold light, mixing with the indigo light of the chakra. Cleansing the energy here, allowing you to see more clearly, strengthening your intuition. Moving down to your throat charka, blending with the blue light, cleansing and renewing the energy here, enabling us to more easily speak our truth. The white gold light moves through the heart chakra, the space in the centre of the chest, swirling and mixing with the green light here, removing any stuck energy and allowing more unconditional love of ourselves and others. Flowing through to the solar plexus charka, in the space over the diaphragm swirling with the yellow light here, cleansing this energy, making this light shine brighter, strengthening our power centre and confidence The white gold light continues cleansing, moving down to the sacral chakra the space below the navel, clearing any stuck energy, blending with the orange light of the chakra. Allowing for creative flow. Down to the root chakra in the space over the tailbone where the light is red, the white gold light swirling with this red light clearing any energy that no longer serves you, making space for more abundance and security in life. Any stuck or stagnant energy leaves your body and lovingly moves away with the cleansing white gold light.
Rest here for a moment on this bed with you guide by your side. Your animal guide may have a message for you here, to help with your healing journey. Take a moment to listen. You feel the warm sunlight on the top of your head again. You now rise from the bed of leaves and flowers, feeling light and peaceful. Walking back down the stairs slowly, to the bottom of the tree.
As you make your way back along the forest path, then and beside the narrow stream, walking towards the green grassy field.
You stand in the field with the sun and light breeze against your skin.
(Pause). You now find yourself back in the void.
(Pause). And slowly come back into the room where you feel your body connected to the floor once again.
Take your time, wiggle your toes, stretch, and sit up slowly.
